    Realm Championship Deck List

As I am no longer able to attend the Realm Championship this weekend here is the deck list I was going to play.

Even though I have not played in a constructed tournament for a while, I did put a bit of time into constructing this one based on internet research. In my opinion the meta-game has become a massive blow out of control vs control with the need for high powered effects which also come with a high cost attached. I believe the time is right for a strategy that punishes players for packing to many cards costing four and up.

    Hero: Blaize Brightspark

    4 anchorite kilandra
    4 zandar shadesprocket
    4 jeleane nightbreeze
    4 marksman glous
    4 loraala

    4 fizzle
    4 the taste of arcana
    4 fire blast
    4 blast wave
    4 dragons breath
    4 nether fracture

    4 the circle of blood
    4 a question of glutony
    4 one draenei's junk
    4 corky's ransom

A low curve applying pressure backed up with the negation package is how to punish the power hungy control decks dominating the meta-game right now. The ally selection has been made with precise consideration to the tools the control decks are employing to take the game long. A lower curve than the infamous Black-Ice backed with efficient removal can dispatch even their god draws.

The key innovation which makes this deck tick is The Circle of Blood. It is sick with Blast Wave and Dragons Breath, as the location adds a counter for each damage packet dealt. This card gives you resilience and overwhelms your opponent with damage sources. You will be very suprised how fast you start making two 'dudes' per turn, thanks to...

Anchorite Kilandra is normally not a turn 1 play, and is only considered as such when paired with The Circle of Blood or Corky's Ransom. I like the flexibillity of Kilandra compared to Xava the Resourceful as Kilandra often names Loraala to inspire. When going second vs Horde, never, ever run your Kilandra out on turn one unless you are inspiring Circle of Blood or Corky's and have Taste of Arcana in hand. Do not loose the game to Vexmaster Nar'jo. This deck is constructed to beat Vexmaster. Play tight.

Loraala is chosen in this deck over Miriam based purely on cost. The curve is low to maximize the effectiveness of the negation spells. Loraala provides some subtle synergy with The Circle of Blood as you often want to be adding a counter in the opponents turn rather than your own through a normal combat attack. Remember you can Dragons Breath Lorrala (for 1) to enable her to attack!

Zandar is my choice at one drop because I think turn one Korthas is still a significant part of the metagame. It means you have eight answers to turn one Korthas, which in my opinion wins games single-handily in blue vs blue if unanswered. There is also a significant about of one damage effects being played, which makes Zandar my choice over Teep, Merry and co.

Any ally I intend playing turn one or two must meet the following criteria: Does not get dominated by Vexmaster Nar'jo. This is Zandar, Jeleane and Glous. Kilandra I have justified above.

As far as quests go, I am a fan of Question of Gluttony. It evens you up on tempo when going second and is always efficient late game thanks to Corky's. Draenei's Junk is a no brainer, Corky's is a perfect fit for the low curve and inspiring resources.

The side deck was not completed, but was looking like:

    2-3 The More The Scarier
    3-4 Spell Suppression
    4 Talian Blade Bender

If you expect to face a lot of Silvermoon City, I would move two copies of Spell Suppression main deck, shaving a Fizzle and A Question of Gluttony. The Fizzle would drop to the side deck, Gluttony would not.

There you go. Done. Boom. Hope its helpful. Good luck in Sydney this weekend!
