This weekend duelists from all over the world are gathering to compete at the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship in Amsterdam. And this year New Zealand has sent not one, but TWO players to represent Oceania this year.

Aaron Dennis and Kevin Motusoka, this years finalists from the Oceania Championship held last month, have touched down in Amsterdam, readying themselves for what is sure to be one of the most high profile tournament's they have ever played in.
In the entourage they have Auckland player, Peter Bird, to offer support and guidance to them.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship is where the top placed players from Qualifiers held all over the world duel it out to find the next World Champ! It won't be easy for Aaron and Kevin who face tough competition from duelists such as European Champion 2011 and winner of YCS Bochum, Michel Gruner of Germany and returning World Champion, Galileo De Olbaldia of Panama, who also the South American Champion for 2011.

Because this competition involves players form all over the world, certain rules have been put in place to make the card pool as even as possible for all players. Popular cards of the format such as Tour Guide from the Underworld and Reborn Tengu, both of which played a major part in the final between Aaron and Kevin, are not allowed as they are cards that are exclusive only to the TCG. Like wise cards only available in the OCG are not allowed.

Aaron and Kevin have many challenges facing them this weekend, but we wish them the best of luck to both of them this weekend. Good luck guys!
